GutterFill is an open cell foam-type gutter guard that inserts inside the gutter. It’s available in 3-foot lengths and is easy to install. It is available at most hardware stores, including Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, Do-It-Best and Ace hardware stores. 

The challenge with GutterFill is that it sits flat inside your gutter. If is designed to sit below the gutter lip, so the combination of sitting flat and being below the gutter lip easily allows leaves and debris to build up on top of the gutter guard.

We tested GutterFill in 2021 and we found that it did a good job taking in water because of its porous membrane. However, it just as easily collected leaves and debris, which not only sat on top of the surface, but tended to mat down on top of it. 

In order GutterFill to work properly over time, it either needs to be installed where trees are a pretty good distance from the house or you will need to occasionally remove the inserts, shake them out, and then reinstall them.
