It’s been just about 5-months since we installed the gutter guards for the Ultimate Gutter Guard Challenge 2021. To recap, we have 9 different gutter guards installed on 12 sections of gutter.
That means we’ve installed three gutter guards – LeafFilter, MasterShield and LeafLock/GutterLove – on both the south and north side of the garage. All other gutter guards, including GutterGlove Pro, LeafSolution, LeaFree, HomeCraft / HydroShield, CleanMesh and Gutter Glove Easy-on are installed on either the south or north side of the garage.
The gutter guards have been working overtime to fend off leaves and debris while taking in as much water as Mother Nature has thrown their way.
Since August brings more heat and dryer weather, I wanted to check-in to see how the gutter guards are performing. I must admit, I am surprised to see debris still sitting on the tops of several of the gutter guards at this point in the summer. Considering the Locust tree dropped its flowers in late-May and early-June, the gutter guards have had 2 ½ months to shed those blooms, yet several seem to be struggling to do so.
For today’s test, we’re looking to see how much debris remains on the gutter guards’ surface and within the opening to the gutter, as is the case with LeaFree, the only solid gutter cover in this challenge.
