  • Will GutterRx handle heavy rain?

    Yes. The surface of Gutter Rx is made up of hundreds of small holes that act as an opening into the gutter. Depending on the location on the surface, the hole sizes vary in order to drain the most rainwater possible. The wavy surface also slows the forward progression of water.

  • Will GutterRx prevent ice dams?

    Ice dams are caused by poor insulation and ventilation in a home’s attic. Gutter Rx will neither prevent nor cause ice dams. GutterRx will reduce the amount of snow and ice build-up in your gutters.

  • Will GutterRx change the appearance of my house?

    No. Gutter Rx installs within the gutter. If it is installed flat, it is completely invisible. If it is installed at an angle, you may see a portion of the gutter guard depending on how high your gutters are. Since it is virtually invisible, Gutter Rx is available in white and dark bronze, which will work on any application!

  • Is GutterRx made from aluminum or plastic?

    Gutter Rx is made of heavy gauge aluminum and includes a 20-year no clog manufacturer’s warranty. Unlike plastic, aluminum will not warp or distort over time, so it will provide better overall performance and maintain it’s attractive appearance.

Gutter Rx FAQ: Debris and Pest Prevention

  • Can squirrels or birds enter gutters and build nests?

    Because the gutter guard surface is made up of hundreds of small holes, there actually is no incentive for birds or squirrels to enter this system. Birds and squirrels want dry spaces to build their nests, which is why they are attracted to hooded gutter covers. Birds, squirrels and insects would get wet if they set-up shop under Gutter Rx, so they won’t even bother!

  • Do you recommend GutterRx be installed on a home surrounded by pine or fir trees?

    This depends on the location of the pine and fir trees in relation to your home. If your gutters clog regularly with pine needles, we recommend selecting one of our micro mesh gutter protection systems that are designed to keep pine needles out of your gutters. If it is limited to one section of your home, then you could purchase Gutter Rx in the unaffected areas and a micro mesh gutter protection in the areas impacted by the pine needles. If the trees are some distance from your home, then it’s a judgment call that you can determine this by looking at the make-up of leaves and debris in your gutters to determine if pine needles will be an issue on your home.

Gutter Rx FAQ: Installation and Maintenance

  • How does GutterRx attach to my gutters?

    Gutter Rx secures to the front lip of the gutter and either to the rear edge of the gutter or the fascia board, depending on if it is installed flat or at an angle. Screwing the gutter guards to the gutter and fascia help create a rigid surface that will support heavy snow or ice loads.

 

  • Will GutterRx install over my existing gutters?

    Yes, it is designed to install on existing 5″ & 6″ gutters!

 

  • Will I have to clean or maintain my GutterRx system?

    It is more likely that you will have to maintain Gutter Rx than the other systems we sell; however, this is will be determined by the angle at which the gutter guards are installed and the proximity of trees to your home. Gutter Rx is backed by an excellent, clog-free warranty, so you will not have to clean the gutters during the warranty period, but you may have to brush off the surface on occasion if leaves accumulate. If you notice a build up of dirt or debris on your system, simply sweep or rinse it off with a high pressure nozzle on your garden hose.
